## Frequently asked questions

### Do I need to confirm my insurance before the first visit?
Yes. Insurance networks change often, so before your first visit we check your own plan with you. Send your plan details through the coverage form, or call (443) 538-8400 during office hours, and we will verify your eligibility, copay and co-insurance with your carrier and call you back, usually within one business day.
### Do the self-pay fees apply if I have Medicare or Medicaid?
No. Our fee-for-service rates cover self-pay and non-covered services, and do not apply to Medicare or Medicaid clients. If you are covered by either, your plan's own rules apply, and we confirm what that means for you before your appointment.
### When are self-pay fees due, and how can I pay?
Fees are due at the time of service unless other arrangements are made in advance. We accept cash and credit cards.
### What is a Good Faith Estimate?
Under the federal No Surprises Act, patients who do not have insurance, or who are not using it, have the right to a written Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of their care before a scheduled service. Ask us for one before you book and keep a copy: if a bill comes in at least $400 above the estimate, you can dispute it. Details are at www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
